Mutual of Omaha Construction Update: Rising Higher Than Ever

Lanoha Real Estate Company is proud to continue leading the development of Project Beacon, the future headquarters of Mutual of Omaha and a landmark project that is transforming Omaha’s skyline. Every stage of construction reflects our dedication to quality, innovation, and attention to detail, ensuring that this iconic tower rises with precision and purpose.

In recent weeks, the project has achieved several remarkable milestones. Structural steel now extends to past Level 33 on all sides, marking a major step in the building’s vertical ascent and underscoring the impressive scale of the tower. In late August, the tower crane completed its sixth and final jump, reaching its full height of 780 feet. With the crane in place, crews are guiding the top-out of the shear core and tower steel, bringing the structure closer to its ultimate height. Just last week, the final shear core concrete was poured, officially completing all vertical concrete work. Meanwhile, interior buildouts are underway through Level 21, offering an exciting preview of the interiors as they come to life. 

The exterior of the building is also taking shape. Perforated metal panels are being placed on the parking garage elevations, providing both ventilation and a sleek architectural finish. Meanwhile, the glass curtain wall continues to advance skyward, creating a seamless and reflective façade that further defines the tower’s distinctive look.

Perhaps most exciting, the tower has now reached Level 44, its highest occupied floor, making the Mutual of Omaha Tower the tallest building in Nebraska. From this vantage point, the views across Omaha are unmatched, marking a milestone that symbolizes both the literal and figurative heights of this project.
