Mutual of Omaha Skyscraper Podium Tops Out + Steel Begins to Rise

The next significant milestone has been reached in the construction of Mutual of Omaha’s new downtown headquarters: the topping out of the podium — the lower structure that will house the lobby, loading areas, building infrastructure, and parking.
The podium, which makes up the bottom 15 floors of the building, has now been completed with the final concrete pour to cap off the top canopy. This marks an important step forward as we continue to shape this iconic skyscraper in Omaha’s skyline.
To give you a closer look at this moment, we’ve put together a timelapse video of the concrete pour. It’s a great way to see the scale and precision that’s gone into this part of the project.
Next Up: Steel Begins to Rise
Work on the steel structure has begun this week, marking a key step toward completing the state-of-the-art Mutual of Omaha headquarters. As steel rises from the concrete podium, we’ll get a clearer sense of the tower’s width and overall shape, with the full height expected to be reached by the end of 2025. Additionally, the glass exterior installation will start in early summer, progressing from the base upward, and by the end of 2025, we anticipate the tower will be nearly fully enclosed.
